Local Musicians To Perform Holiday Music at the Airport in Partnership With the Memphis Music Foundation
Air Travelers at Memphis International will be serenaded by a variety of local musicians during the December holiday period.
Memphis Music Foundation (MMF) in partnership with the Airport Authority has scheduled choirs, blues artists, and Americana singer/songwriters to perform holiday classics and some original Memphis music.
“Memphis International Airport has a new vision of creating a ‘Positively MEMorable’ experience for our travelers,” said Scott Brockman, Chief Operating Officer for the MSCAA. “This initiative with the Memphis Music Foundation will give our passengers a healthy dose of Memphis hospitality.”
“The airport is the first impression many people get of our city, whether as a final destination or changing planes, said MMF President Dean Deyo. “We hope to continue providing Memphis Music in the airport during major holidays throughout 2014. We have also worked with the airport to provide the recorded Memphis Music now playing 24 hours a day in their new parking facility.
Performances are scheduled 11 am – 2:30 pm, December 18, 19, 20 and 23 in the A, B and C concourses.
